Enough
I have no more, anymore.
There is not enough left of my might.
Exhausted.
I’ve exhausted all of my weapons.
Yet, with all the battles we’ve fought in this war
…we still can’t breathe.
Our boots are laced up for combat daily.
We’re more than equipped to handle the load.
But, now, jumping into my fatigues fatigues me
My armor is battered.
It’s tattered and scarred.
It’s been worn and torn by
Racism
Sexism
Islamophobia
Xenophobia
Homophobia
Misogyny
Stupidity
Irrational bigotry
Christians who don’t act like Christ.
Police brutality
White privilege
White Supremacy
Economic injustice
Health Disparities
*sighs*
My breath escapes me trying to count them all.
Freedom.
It’s far.
But we’ve mapped the path to get there.
We start with a revolution!
A Revolution like the revolutionary Christ!
Then love,
Then conversation,
Then understanding,
Then empathy,
Then policy,
Then equality,
Then equity,
Then love,
Then learning,
Then teaching,
Then they will…
…stop killing us…
