Don't Leave Your Christmas Lights on the Castle all Year Long!
Don’t Leave Your Christmas Lights on the Castle!
Okay. We understand. It took a very long time for you to intricately decorate your home with ornate lights and Christmas decorations. Goodness, it cost a lot of money, as well. You put thought into those plastic snowmen, Santa Claus figurines, and wooden Christ nativity scene. None of which correlate, but you don’t care because…cute! You were sweating bullets for an entire weekend after Thanksgiving to make sure your house had the hottest decorative scheme on the block. It would be just as easy if you left them up for next year’s festivities, right? NO! Don’t even think about it.
Yes, it’s tacky and makes you look lazy. But most importantly, they’re lights! They’re going to suffer through the weathers of each season all year long if you refuse to take them down. They will probably even lose their ability to actually illuminate by mid-February. Then, you’ll be forced to buy brand new lights during the new season this year. And aren’t we taking control of our finances in 2016? Let’s try to save where we can. Even in the areas where we don’t see much need to save.
It may be as simple as reserving 7 full days and taking down the lights and decorations a little at a time. But don’t leave them up. It’s okay that the season is over. 😊
