Dream in Vivid, Royal Colors!—10 Black Inventors
Cheers to the Dreamers! Cheers to those who are struggling with oppression and racism, yet keep their dreams alive!
This can be difficult. Learning to dream through the pain of being stepped on by society is a major burden to bear. However, you must push through. Perseverance and steadfastness has always been the mark of the oppressed. This is not to say that you are not allowed to feel, or that raising your voice in anger at institutionalized racism and injustice is wrong. Feeling this way and doing these things are okay. As a matter of fact, feeling all of these emotions is NECESSARY! It is the only way that we are able to be tired enough of the status quo to make a change. However, you are NOT one dimensional. You are a dynamic individual. You are allowed to be sad, angry, confused, and frustrated while taking action to change your situation and your community’s. Hopefully, these Black inventors will inspire you to do just that.
